HAS IT ALWAYS BEEN ROSY? SEASONAL CHALLENGE AND CONQUERORS

HAS IT ALWAYS BEEN ROSY? SEASONAL CHALLENGE AND CONQUERORS

When you hear people say all sorts about the economy, policy, laws and its challenges as it affect them across different sectors; one is tempted to lose faith, resign to fate and perhaps let every facet of the period go as time flies.

The situation in the world putting Nigeria in perspective has not helped in any way over the past years depending on who tell his/her tales. Lyrical reference and genre have proven that things haven’t always been rosy. Suffix to say “wishes have not been horses at anytime”; hence beggars have not ridden.

Fix your gaze as we explore genre and lyrics of our own musical icon:

In the sixties (60’s-70’s), Dr. Victor Olaiya did a song “ilu le o ko so wo lode! Okunrin kigbe obinrin kigbe! Translation (things are tough in the country, money is scarce and everyone is wailing)…..
Same economy produced Henry Fajemirokun, Bisoye Tejuoso, Chief Adedoyin, Bode Akindele etc.

In the eighties (80’s), King Sunny Ade did “Ebe la’be Oba Eledumare ko si ju aanu wo Nigeria yio... Translation (We beg God to have mercy upon Nigeria)
Same economy produced Subomi Balogun, David Dafinione, MKO Abiola etc.

In the 90’s, Evang. Bayo Adegboyegba  sang “ilu le koko o, Olorun wa so’lu d’ero” … Meaning (Things are tough, God have mercy)…….
Same economy produced Tony Elumelu, Mike Adenuga, Aliko Dangote, Pascal Edozien, Fola Adeola etc.

The cry about recession is sadly real but an undue distraction, please keep creaming and watering your dream.
